Comprehensive goal setting and action planning software
Action Planner was developed to maximise the outcomes of career and life transition planning. The Action Planner guided planning process and database prompts the user to identify appropriate goal-specific action steps (tasks), resources, barriers, contingency plans and time lines. Clear and realistic Action Plans and chronological To-Do-Lists are generated. This ensures that progress monitoring is an easy and ongoing activity. Action Planner includes multiple goal setting and action planning pathways, and is an excellent career/life planning and achievement motivation tool for teenagers and adults.
What does Action Planner do?
Action Planner includes three different but strongly related types of goal setting and action planning:
- work and study (ongoing learning) goals
- personal goals (health/happiness/fun)
- relationship goals (family/friends/others)
The computer program guides a person through a straight forward but comprehensive goal setting and planning process, which includes:
Goal Setting
Select (from the database) the type of goal (work/study, personal or relationship). Select or enter own wording of goal. Select or enter benefits that achievement of the goal will bring the person.
Goal Prioritising
Select how important this particular goal is, compared with other goals and priortise accordingly.
Goal Time-line
Select or enter own realistic, goal-specific action steps (and sub-steps) likely to ensure/enhance goal achievement.
Action Steps Time-lines
Select or enter own time-lines for achieving each action step and sub-step.
Resources
Select or enter own goal-specific resources that could help with goal and action step achievement.
Barriers
Select or enter own goal-specific circumstances that could affect goal achievement.
What-if's (Contingency Plans)
Select or enter own goal-specific contingency plans just in case things don't work out as expected.
Monitoring Individual Progress
Select or enter own time-line for reviewing progress. As change is constant, reviewing, changing and adding goals and action steps/sub-steps should be a regular activity in order to maximise motivation and maintain a sense of positive direction and achievement.
Achievements
A sense of achievement is reinforced by ticking off (clicking) each step/goal as it is achieved. The immediately updated Action Plan will clearly show which action steps/goals have been achieved and which ones are still active. Completed tasks and achieved goals will also automatically drop off the To-Do-List.
Progress Tracking of Groups and Individuals by Careers Advisers/Case Managers
Besides motivating and guiding individuals towards goals achievement, Action Planner also enables Careers Avisers/Case Managers to track the progress of groups and individuals over time. It makes it easy to see (from their Action Plans and To-Do-Lists) when and how to congratulate, encourage and help individuals to maximise their potential to achieve their career and life goals.
